Children & Youth Mental Health Support

Occupational Therapy plays a significant role in supporting youth mental health by helping children and adolescents manage emotional, behavioural, and cognitive challenges that interfere with their ability to engage in everyday activities. Occupational Therapists work with youth to enhance their self-regulation, social skills, coping mechanisms, and overall mental well-being, all while promoting participation in school, home, and community life.
Interventions focus on improving function and independence through psychosocial, psychoeducational, cognitive, as well as sensory, mindfulness, and exercise based approaches.

Our therapists use a combination of approaches and concepts, including those found within the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioural Activation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy frameworks.
